undergraduate/graduate scholarship
programs
A top priority for UFSC members is assisting young minorities who are
preparing academically to enter the field of financial services. In
1983, the UFSC formed a National Scholarship Program as a direct result
of that commitment. The program offers scholarships to minority students
seeking undergraduate degrees in banking and related fields. Recently,
it expanded to include Graduate Degree Scholarships for UFSC members.
The Undergraduate Degree scholarships offer a maximum of $8,000 per
year to four students, at $2,000 each over a four-year period. The students
are selected based on criteria which includes maintaining a 3.0 grade
point average on a 4.0 scale and demonstrated financial need. Additionally,
UFSC's Chapters have local chapter scholarship programs, which enhance
the National efforts. The Graduate Degree scholarship is a one-time,
once a year contribution of $2,500 to a UFSC member in good standing.
Eligibility is determined by the local chapter based upon criteria set
forth and approved by the UFSC Board of Directors.
