SUMMARY:Maximizing Your Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Join the Kansas Chapter of Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) for its April Empowerment session entitled “Maximizing Your Leadership” on Tuesday\, April 12\, 2022\, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm\, Central Standard Time.  The featured speakers are Adrienne Whitaker\, DEI Director for Virginia Housing and Co-Founder of L2L Leadership Institute and Ditu Kasuyi\, President and CEO of Kasuyi & Associates\, LLC and Co-Founder of L2L Leadership Institute. \n Leaders must be willing to Show up and make time for the people they lead. \nShowing up is more than being available and working alongside of your team. It also means having a sincere desire to look out for your team.   \n\n\n Leaders need to Speak up to advocate for resources\, have hard conversations to increase team productivity\, manage conflict within the team\, and hire the right people. \n\n\n And finally\, leaders need Step up\, particularly during times of crisis.  \n\n We know great leaders must show up\, speak up\, and step up; however\, it isn’t always easy or natural.  Individuals who want to be great leaders need to hone their skills. Although some say leaders are born and not created\, in reality leadership skills can be taught and developed.  In this session we will focus on four key areas to transform leaders from good to great\, regardless of their level of leadership. \n\n\n During this session the speakers will cover: \n\n \n\nIdentifying Your Purpose as a Leader\nEstablishing Your Leadership Brand\nLeading with Intentionality\nLeading with Authenticity\n\nFor more Information Click Here

SUMMARY:Financial Literacy\, Financial Inclusion\, and Closing the Racial Wealth Gap
DESCRIPTION:The Richmond Chapter of Urban Financial Services Coalition invites influencers and leaders from across the financial services industry to the “Financial Literacy\, Financial Inclusion\, and Closing the Racial Wealth Gap” session on Tuesday\, April 27\, 2021\, at 6:30 pm Eastern Standard Time.  This session’s featured speaker will be Renee Sattiewhite\, President and CEO of the African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC). \nThe racial financial literacy gap has been well documented.  As noted in a recent study titled  “Financial Literacy and Wellness of African Americans\,” this financial literacy gap contributes to the racial wealth gap.  And the wealth gap is at the root of many other inequities and disparities that lead to the overall comparative diminution of the quality of life of African Americans and other people of color. The McKinsey & Company report entitled\, “The Economic Impact of Closing The Racial Wealth Gap\,” Jason Wright and Shelly Stewart III point out that “the persistent racial wealth gap is a burden on black Americans as well as the overall economy.”  For those who don’t know\, the wealth gap\, when analyzed by race\, is staggering.  According to the Federal Reserves’ Survey of Consumer Finances\, in 2016\, the median household net worth (aka wealth) of black Americans was $24\,000 compared to $170\,000 for white households.  United States GDP (Gross Domestic Product) could increase by over $1.4 trillion dollars over the next ten years by closing the racial wealth gap! \n \nRenee Sattiewhite \nPresident and CEO \nAfrican American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) \nRenée Sattiewhite is the President and CEO of the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) and is responsible for the execution of the strategic vision of the Board of Directors.  With over 30 years in the world of finance\, she started her career as a Teller Trainee for City National Bank in Beverly Hills\, California.  She quickly moved up the ranks with various positions including Bank Officer. \nShe has been associated with credit unions for over 25 years and was the first Internship Program Director for the AACUC.  Renee’s background is in training and marketing\, specializing in Customer Service\, Effective Communication\, Board Development\, Team Building and Strategic Planning. \nRenée is a former Instructor for Spelman College’s Continuing Education Department\, a Facilitator for United Way of Greater Atlanta’s VIP Board Development Program and a graduate of Oglethorpe University with a B.A. in Communications.  She is credited for giving organizations a “new look” in the areas of customer satisfaction\, employee relations\, and marketing materials. \nShe is a certified diversity professional\, a credit union development educator\, motivational speaker\, an executive coach\, mentoring trainer and assists organizations with marketing campaigns. \nRenee is also a proud Board Member of the World Council of Credit Unions Foundation and a Master Trainer for the United Way of Atlanta ‘s VIP Board Development Program. \nDate:         Tuesday\, April 27\, 2021\nTime:         6:30 pm\, Eastern Daylight Time\nRegister:  https://ufscfinancialfreedom.eventbrite.com\nPlatform:  Zoom

DESCRIPTION:Join Urban Financial Services Coalition for a special session entitled “Leading Virtual Teams” featuring Ditu Kasuyi\, President and Leadership Coach\, on Saturday\, February 27\, 2021\, 10:00 am to 2:30 pm\, Eastern Standard Time. \nModern communication technologies and globalization have changed the way many people work. These days\, thanks to the Internet\, we can communicate more easily and more quickly than ever before with people from all over the world. \nNew communication technologies have also allowed more and more people to work remotely\, giving rise to the virtual workplace. \nAllowing staff to work remotely has a lot of advantages\, including allowing employees to have more flexible work arrangements\, being able to access talent from all over the world\, saving money on paying for office space\, saving time and money commuting and helping to support the environment due to less travel. \nHowever\, there are also challenges in working remotely and in leading a virtual workforce.  Some of these challenges are part of leading any team but other challenges are specific to virtual teams. \nAs remote work arrangements are a relatively new phenomenon\, many leaders are not yet used to managing virtual teams. So\, a training session on leading remote employees is very useful for any manager who would like to be ready to lead remote teams effectively. \nThis leading remote teams training course is specifically designed to teach leaders how to manage their virtual team. This training course on leading in a virtual team covers topics such as how to tackle challenges like trust\, communication\, logistics\, and motivation in leading remote workers. \nAbout the Speaker:\nDitu Kasuyi \nPresident & Leadership Coach  \nKasuyi & Associates\, LLC.\nDitu Kasuyi is the President and CEO of Kasuyi and Associates\, LLC\, an executive coaching firm in Richmond\, VA.
