“Celebrate and Co-Create Presidential Inauguration” Watch Party
Urban Financial Services Coalition DMV (UFSC DMV) invites you to a special session entitled “Celebrate and Co-Create Presidential Inauguration” Watch Party on Thursday, January 20, 2021, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time.
Traditionally, UFSC DMV celebrates the Presidential Inauguration with a series of in-person activities that include a visit to historical sites, discussions with congress members, attending an Inauguration Ball, and VIP participation in the Inauguration Ceremony.
While the Inauguration will look different this year, UFSC DMV is committed to honoring this historical moment with a day full of networking, discussion of ideas and solutions, and the sharing of reactions to this moment.

The Biden Presidential Inauguration marks a momentous occasion that calls for a celebration. The historic election of a Black Vice President brings us to a historic moment and requires us to respond with action. We will celebrate the Biden inauguration by co-creating ideas for a better future. Borrowing strategies from design thinking, we will run an exercise focused on idea generation – brainstorming on how to move the needle in five distinct areas of focus related to making continued process for communities of color through the financial services framework. Participants will walk away from the exercise with at least six actionable ways to individually and/or collectively do their part in activating progress during this new time in our nation’s journey.
The focus areas are:
- Community Development Financial Institutions
- COVID-19 response
- Financial Literacy in Black and Brown communities
- Bias in Financial Services
- Support for Black-owned businesses
