Obituary for Mrs. Alison Mann Nottage
Alison Mann Nottage, 57, passed on May 31, 2016 in the presence of her loving family.
Alison was born in February of 1959 in Madison, Wisconsin to Bernard and Kathlyn Mann. She was the oldest of five children.
Alison was a National Merit Scholar in High School and then earned a full academic scholarship to Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, FL. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Accounting and Economics in 1981. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. We like to say she was academically advanced but athletically challenged! While at FAMU, Alison met her future husband. On May 30, 1982, Alison married her true love Jeffery Nottage. The evening before her transition home, Alison and Jeff enjoyed their last dance on their 34th anniversary. Alison and Jeff are blessed with one beautiful daughter, Jaclyn Ann Nottage.
Alison had a wonderful life and business career. She began her career at Continental Bank in Chicago in the Corporate Lending Training Program and upon completion she advanced to a Treasury Management Officer. She then went to Banker’s Trust in New York in Treasury Management and rose to the position of 2nd V.P. She moved on to Core State Bank in New Jersey as V.P. Once in Atlanta, she used her skills at Bank South as V.P., Bank of America as V.P and most recently SunTrust as Managing Group V.P.
Alison enjoyed gardening in her very own Nottage Park, watching movies, listening to Christian radio and spending time with family and friends. She spent time involved in organizations that focused on education, community service, Christian outreach and financial literacy. We all know there are few more things she enjoyed…shopping and jewelry, jewelry and more jewelry.
Alison leaves behind her loving husband of 34 years, Jeffery and her daughter Jaclyn of Alpharetta.
She is survived by her sister Lori (Vince) of Madison, WI, sister Dawn (Brent) of Chicago, IL, brother Bruce of Alpharetta, GA, sister Becky (Darryl) of Madison, WI. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Earl (Sondra) of Miami, FL, sister-in-law Renae (Robyn) of Miami, FL, brother-in-law Samuel (Marsha) of Weston, FL and brother-in-law Darrell of Alpharetta, GA. She has numerous nieces and nephews that will miss her influence greatly: DaJuan, Evan, Alysia, Keith, Eric, Vincent, Ian, Terrence, DJ, Ciera, Kyle, Terrell, Amara, DeLauren, Owen and Terralyn. And her Aunt Dollie of Milwaukee, WI. Alison was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Kathlyn Mann, her maternal grandparents Alberta McCall and Glenn Fitzgerald, her paternal grandparents Honor and Willie Belle Mann.
Memorable Quote: Measure your life by moments of kindness, not by years.
Alison’s Favorite Bible Verse:
Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
