St. Louis Annual Summit

The Urban Financial Services Coalition kicked off the 39th Annual Summit in St. Louis with the Delegate Breakfast and Board Meeting.

 
Representatives from across the country shared updates on the major accomplishments over the past year and discussed the key strategic initiatives for the upcoming year.
 
Other highlights of the day include the Luncheon and panel discussion with several OMWI Directors at Federal Reserve Banks throughout the nation.  The Leveraging the Power of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion€ panel discussion was moderated by Jeffrey Anoka, Outreach Coordinator, US Securities and Exchange Commission.  The panel – Sheila Clark, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Board of Governors; Valerie Van Meter, OMWI Director, Chicago Federal Reserve Bank;  Donna Ward, OMWI Director, Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank; Joan Buchanan, OMWI Director, Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, provided insight into the implementation, goals and success measures of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act Section 342 across the Federal Reserve Banks nationwide.
 
Walter BrownThe afternoon sessions were just as dynamic, starting with Walter Brown, Principal at WB Lending Solutions sharing€œ Effective Defense Strategies Against Real Estate Foreclosure Losses€.  This session provided an analysis of the ongoing US foreclosure crisis and some of the methods used by financial institutions, communities and individuals to minimize tangible and intangible losses.
Andrew T. Carr, Principal, A.L. Carr Group explored networking techniques which we can implement immediately to build and expand our strategic relationships and gain competitive advantage in the workshop Creating Powerful Strategic Relationships in the New Economy€.
 
The evening ended with the Presidents Reception which was attended by key senior leaders of the St Louis Federal Reserve Bank.
 
The 39th Annual Summit continues on Friday with the Economic Outlook Breakfast, CEO Symposium Luncheon and other workshops designed to provide education and information for participants to take back to local chapters and communities.
