The forum is designed for middle management to senior level leaders who are people of color in the financial services sector and will include industry, leadership and professional development experiences to enhance your careers and networks.
- Virtual Vitality with UFSC Empowered Leaders Toastmasters Club: Professional, executives, and entrepreneurs are invited to an evening of Virtual Vitality with the UFSC Empowered Toastmasters Club. - Holiday Cooking with Chef Ausar, The Kitchen Magician: The Holiday season is upon us and some people have anxiety on what they will be cooking this holiday season. Will it be the same old selections from seasons past or something new to bring in a new vibe, a new sense of excitement. Chef Ausar, will give you a taste of why they call him the The Kitchen Magician and as a result your holiday guests will be singing your praises with a full stomach.
- Making it Stick: Your Post Forum Action Plan: Motivating, inspiring, and empowering learning sessions are most valuable when you can apply the knowledge to your professional environment. Adult learning expert Jeff Hurt says, “The real work [of learning] actually begins when the education session ends. The real work is the effort the learner uses to transfer and apply the new knowledge and skills so that it improves their performance.” In this session, Urban Financial Services Coalition will share its best practices for creating an action plan to implement what you learned and cultivate the new relationships you established.
- Inclusive Leadership: Empower Your Team & Maximize Your Impact: It is important for an organization or business, today, to employ a diverse workforce, which includes people from different backgrounds and with a variety of characteristics. However, it is not enough to make sure that a company has a diverse workforce. Every member of the team also needs to be included. To achieve this, inclusive leaders with the ability to provide members of the team equality of opportunities, access to targeted support for their specific needs, and very importantly, the feeling that they are able to express their ideas and opinion without fear and everyone’s input is equally welcome. In this interactive mini workshop participants will start to build on their inclusive leadership skills by learning to define and discuss what inclusion and diversity are; why today they are particularly important in business; and why we cannot have diversity without inclusion. In addition, they will deepen their understanding the idea of privilege and the difference between equity and equality.
